What You Need to Know About the Aube Department

Part of the Grand Est region, the Aube department is department number 10 in France. As its name suggests, it was named after the Aube river. Its current population is 305,606 inhabitants and its area extends over 6,004 km2.

This means that Aube has a population density of 52 inhabitants per km2, ranking it 76th among departments in terms of population. Previously, a decree by the National Assembly was signed to establish the Aube department. This was dated January 15, 1790.
