As a very large country, the United States experiences several climatic variations even though generally the country has a continental climate. This climate is characterized by a cold or freezing winter and very hot or scorching summers. There are different seasons related to geographical location, but also due to proximity or distance from the sea.
For example: there are the west coasts near the Pacific Ocean which have a moderately cold climate in the northern section and a Mediterranean climate in the southern section. The ethnicities and racial differences in the United States are quite complex, because if we refer to the federal level, race and ethnicity are two different things. There are currently 5 racial categories: White Americans, Black or African Americans, Native Americans, Alaska Natives, Asians, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders.
In recent years, White Americans make up the majority of the population, and Hispanics and Latino Americans are the largest ethnic minorities, estimated at about 18% of the population.
